FOR FAMILIES OF YOUNG PEOPLE

Children (ages 9 and up) and young adults with all types of physical or mental disabilities are welcome to apply for the pilgrimage. Applications from the child's family and physician (due September 30th) are reviewed by our organizational and medical staff, who will determine if we are able to safely take him/her on the journey. All medical information on the application and discussed in person is held in the strictest confidence.

Once a child has been accepted, a primary and secondary helper will be assigned to him/her. (Primary helpers have experience on an ASCPG pilgrimage, while secondary helpers may or may not.) All helpers complete a mandatory training session, receive information on your child's disability, and make several visits to your home to meet the child and his/her family.

Parents do not make the journey with their child except under extreme circumstances. They are, however, responsible for ensuring that their child has a current passport, for providing transportation to and from the airport, and ...

All travel expenses (airfare, hotel, meals, for the trip are paid through the generosity of ASCPG supporters. A child's family will be asked to pay approximately $70 for his/her ASCPG t-shirt, sweatshirt, hat, and jacket.
